Join teachers from across Hampshire for a day of training with the Royal Shakespeare Company and find out about their Associate Schools Programme supported by Mayflower.
Date: Wednesday 10 July
Time: 9.15am – 3.30pm (arrival 9am)
Venue: Studio 3 at MAST Mayflower Studios
To celebrate Mayflower becoming a partner venue for the RSC’s Associate Schools Programme, we are delighted to be able to offer teachers a day of practical exploration!
During the day we will take a dive into RSC rehearsal room approaches to teaching Shakespeare’s text, looking at story, characters, and language. The training is open to teachers from KS2 Primary, KS3 Secondary and Special Schools and would be most applicable to literacy specialists and English/Drama teachers. No prior knowledge of the plays or previous experience of teaching Shakespeare is required.
We will also be providing information on the RSC Associate Schools Programme which will launch in Southampton in September 2024.
The activities will be practical in nature (but not intimidating) so please wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes. Lunch and refreshments will be provided as part of the day.

As a partner venue, we are pleased to offer this on a subsidised fee of £30 per teacher.
